On December 12, 2009 @ 3:00PM, my 3 year old daughter and 12 other little girls will expereince a enchanting moment in history. Disney will debut the first African American princess in the Princess and the Frog movie. I have planned a magical event for these girls because of my daughter's first reaction to the movie trailer. When she saw the trailer she became enthused and said "Mommy, that princess is brown just like me". This movie is very important because it gives African American little girls a sense of pride and conveys to them that not only are princesses white as Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc. It converys that African American girls are beautiful and worthy of admiration as well and it can boost self-esteem. I am really excited about the movie and I would like the residents of Central Louisiana to know how important the movie is to the Africa American community.

The Princess Extravaganza will begin at 3:00PM where the girls will meet at the Alexandria City Hall . They will be transported by limosuine to The Grand Theatre. Once they arrive at the Theatre they will take pictures dressed in princess dresses on a "red carpet". They will watch the 4:45PM matinee.

Please consider covering this event. I can be contacted at 989-714-5352 or via email at renisha00@yahoo.com. If you have any questions or concerns. feel free to contact me. Thanks in advance, Renisha Beaudion

Good Afternoon Sherri Jackson

We have not spoken since Christmas, but we have had some great success with our community fundraising and donation.. Walmart on Hwy 28 East in Alexandria donated $2,600.00 from a grant that they receive from the Walmart ( National). It was a Community Grant...

We have propose to enhance our Teen Center with two new computers, flash cards, software, printers, ink, dictionary and books as well as DVD.

I will list this in the community of the Town Talk , but I wanted you to be the first to get this information..

I do have pictures from this event that took place today.

I wish I had your email address to send you the pictures that were taken today.. I will send soon

Big Thanks to Rita Epps and her Store Managers

And Thank you to you for thinking of us..

Thanks Sherri for taking the Light to another Level. I always look forward to picking up copies of the Light at my church - Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Now the Light is at my fingertips with the touch of a few keys.

Keep up the good work!!

May God Bless You
